What shall I do with my time now that I am retired ?
(I don't think that will be a problem)

MAKING SOME SLOW PROGRESS WITH THE KITCHEN

18 JULY 2007

I have managed to spend a bit more time on the new kitchen.

On Sunday last I put down the new floor tiles.  They are in porcelain and are quite difficult to cut.  I found the best way was with my angle grinder.  This worked fine until the last two cuts and it packed up altogether. I had to go out a buy a new one.  Still I can't complain I had good use out of it.

The following day I grouted the tiles in and got into great difficulty. - I had mixed too much of the grout and it was 'going off' faster than I though it would.  I had to spend a lot of time getting the partially set grout off the surface of the tiles.  I had to resort to a wire brush and plently of elbow grease.

When Linda came home from work at about 01:00pm she joined in and we eventually finished at about 07:00pm only stopping for a brief snack at about 03:00pm.

We were both knackered - but the result looks great.

I will post more piccies as we progress.
